Religion plays a big part in my best friends life as it helps her feel more connected to her family when they’re overseas for work. After serving her mission in California becoming the first Mormon missionary in her family, I wanted to capture how religion is still a large influence on her life now that she has moved back to Maryland and is living by herself. She uses a dedicated space in her home for bible study, to plan ideas and activities as the young women’s presidency counselor in her ward, and to do homework in as it’s a space with little distractions; and the goal of this photo series was to capture the environment that makes her feel close to her family and gives her comfort when life gets tough.
